Made in collaboration with Qualcomm Snapdragon and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, this exclusive virtual reality experience gives VIPs an opportunity to explore the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 virtual garage for an immersive behind-the-scenes look at team operations and showcasing the “All-in Performance” passion and expertise of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team.

Once inside the experience, users could walk and look around freely in 6DOF, and interact with hotspots to learn more about the car and garage spaces. Guided by a volumetric capture of Lewis Hamilton, users could explore the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Garage, Car, Engineering Treehouse, and Fuel Analysis Station. Each area included an exclusive interview with a Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team member, including Toto Wolff, James Allison, and Jodi Hutton, a 360º video, and multiple information panels.

The experience was built on the Lenovo ThinkReality VRX headset.

2024 EXPERIENCE

In collaboration with Qualcomm Snapdragon, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 Team VIP Garage Tour was updated for the 2024 season and unveiled at the Miami Grand Prix. This immersive experience, designed exclusively for VIP guests, featured the latest W15 car, additional volumetric captures and an interactive game.

The updated experience featured a streamlined narrative that included the addition of Toto Wolff and George Russell, joining Lewis Hamilton to create a richer, more dynamic experience. The new Reaction Time game added a competitive edge, simulating professional driver training. The experience was a highlight at the Miami Club – Hospitality area, with guests competing for the fastest reaction times and a chance to win a real-life tour of the Mercedes-AMG team garage. The overwhelmingly positive feedback confirmed the project’s success and built upon the momentum from 2023’s Las Vegas showcase.

The experience was built on the Meta Quest 3 headset.
